Our Service Proposition
For the majority of our clients, mortgages in their many forms are one of the most significant financial decisions they make. Whether it is on their main residence, their portfolio of rentals properties or their commercial or retail premises, it makes sense to ensure the rate and terms are as advantageous as possible.
Our promise is to make sure we understand your circumstances and what you really want from the product before we recommend a solution. By matching your needs we aim to put YOU in control of your mortgage rather than the other way around.
We have over a decade of experience in the finance market and are pleased to advise in the following areas;
- Purchase
- Remortgage
- Buy to let
- Commercial
- Equity Release and Lifetime.
We offer independent advice and a choice of remuneration options as with all our other advice areas.
Please be aware that some of the mortgages we advise on are not regulated by the Financial Services Authority. We will confirm in writing when this applies.
The Financial Services Authority
The FSA, to give it its shorter title is the government watchdog that regulates all financial and insurance firms – this ranges from the largest multintional bank, to the financial adviser operating as a sole trader. The FSA handbook of rules and guidance lays down the laws to which all Independent Financial Advisers must adhere, and the way they treat customers is governed by the ‘Conduct of Business’ (COB) rules. The rules are freely available from the FSA’s website– www.fsa.gov.uk. Please note: this is an external site and our firm is not responsible for the content.
Anything else I should know?
Some financial advisers do give advice on products that are not regulated by FSA – such as buy-to-let mortgages or general taxation advice. Your adviser will explain to you when you are receiving advice on an unregulated product. It is important you are happy with the advice as you do not have the added protection of FOS or FSCS when dealing with some unregulated products.
